Jurisdiction

  • Represents the Republic of Serbia in the receiving state, in the countries it covers on a non-residential basis (Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Maldives, Bhutan), and before international organizations for which it is responsible.
  • Protects the interests of the Republic of Serbia, its citizens, and legal entities;
  • Participates in negotiations with the government of the receiving state, the governments of the countries it covers on a non-residential basis, and representatives of international organizations for which it is responsible;
  • Promotes and develops relations and cooperation between the Republic of Serbia and the receiving state, the countries it covers on a non-residential basis, and the international organizations for which it is responsible;
  • Reports on internal developments and foreign policy of the receiving state, the countries it covers on a non-residential basis, and the activities of international organizations for which it is responsible;
  • Develops cooperation with members of the Serbian diaspora in the receiving state and the countries it covers on a non-residential basis, with the aim of preserving their national and cultural identity;
  • Carries out other duties in accordance with international law, the legal regulations of the Republic of Serbia, and the directives of the Ministry.

The Embassy performs consular duties in the receiving state and in the countries it covers on a non-residential basis.
