Serbia is grateful to India for its support in international organisations

10. May 2022.

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia Nikola Selaković met with Minister of State for External Affairs of India Meenakashi Lekhi today in Malaga, in the margins of the International Conference on Human Rights, Civil Society and Counter-Terrorism.

The two ministers exchanged opinions on a number of current international topics and bilateral issues.

Minister Selaković emphasised the importance of further deepening the decades-long friendship and cooperation based on mutual respect and understanding, and strengthening political and economic ties between Serbia and India. He expressed his gratitude to India for its principled position and refusal to recognise the unilaterally declared independence of the so-called Kosovo, and for its support to Serbia in international organisations.

Noting that there was considerable room for further improvement and diversification of economic cooperation, Minister Selaković stressed that Serbia wanted to attract as many investments from India as possible. He stated that he was particularly pleased with the large increase in the number of Indian tourists visiting Serbia.
